My Blog Pick Wednesday! Preparing for the Future--Proverbs 31, Week 7

Someone once told me that I am complicated and as I start my blog pick  Wednesdays series, I now see what they were saying. I read many different blogs not only on being a better wife or mother but on being a good business woman along with learning better ways to apply makeup.  I hope that you enjoy this series.

Preparing for the Future--Proverbs 31, Week 7 blog focuses on the passage below:

"When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple."
Proverbs 31:21-22

I also looked up this passage in the Message Bible and it stated:

"She doesn't worry about her family when it snows; their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear."
Proverbs 31:21-22 MSG

Jenn asks in her blog,” am I prepared for what I may need in the future?” I also had to ask myself that question. To be honest, we lost electricity about a month ago and I could not find a flashlight anywhere in my house. I resorted to my backup flashlight from the car. That night I realized that I was not taking care of my family.

I remember my mother always being 2 steps ahead. When my feet grew, my mother already had a new pair of shoes ready and when I needed my first training bra, I remember my mom taking it out of a JC Penny bag hidden away in her closet. All of these memories are still fresh in my mind, so can you imagine the thoughts my now 2 year old toddler would have if he was a teenager the day we lost electricity?
After reading the blog I thought about the effects of being unprepared on our children and spouses. It really reminded me about being prepared. I should never be too busy cooking, cleaning etc. that I forget to prepare for the future.
