Blog Pick Wednesdays: GUARD YOUR MIND (Helmet of Salvation)

Growing up in a Christian family we always talked about the full armor of God. As I grew older I spent less time on the armor of God and more time worrying. When I read Lisa Koster's blog on GUARD YOUR MIND, I knew it was time to get back to the basics. In her blog Lisa stated, "Satan's primary target is our mind, because he knows if he can capture the mind with his lies he can destroy the whole person."

Do you feel overwhelmed or deal with ungodly thoughts? Well, it is time for us to put on our helmet of Salvation. This means, "study God's Word." Lisa gave several scriptures but these are the two I will be focusing on for a month:

I am loved!
The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” ~ Zephaniah 3:17

I am not alone!
Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. ~ Isaiah 43:1-2

  1. Wow - this was really convicting for me to read. Like you, I grew up putting on the armor every single day. I have gotten away from that. Thank you for the's amazing how a simple thing like this can focus our thoughts in the right direction at the start of our day...and how our thoughts remain focused on the Lord and do not easily stray to those things that cause worry and strife. Thank you for this great post. Blessings from Croatia: A Little R & R:

  2. Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to staying connected!!
